Dec 17, 2017· I've just recently finished reading The Mill on the Floss for the first time and it crushed me! I felt as if I could sense that a conflict would arise from the fight we see in Maggie, and Tom's strange dealing out of justices. But you are right, I don't think I understood that type of tragedy either. It was an absolutely stunning novel.
