Apr 28, 2015· Thus, it was desired to develop a new type of mill which is capable of controlling the rolled strip shape even with changes in rolling conditions. The performance of a conventional 4-High mill is not satisfactory in these requirements. A new 6-High cold rolling mill (hereinafter HC-MILL) has been developed in order to solve these shape problems.

2-Hi Rolling Mill is used to roll raw material thickness ≤ 4 mm, width ≥ 200 mm, made of plain carbon steel, low alloy steel, stainless steel and non-ferrous metal strip, used for roughing or roughing mill.

Hot Rolled Coil that are cleaned at the pickling line (HRP), is being processed at the cold rolling Mill (total 700,000 tons/ annual capacity) to reduce the thickness to desired values. The homogeneous thickness and high surface quality is maintained at 6 Hi reversing mill with the help of AFC and AGC systems. Cold Rolling Mill 1

Our in-house cold reduction mills enables us to offer strip quality capabilities in close tolerance of thickness, temper and finish. Waterbury Farrel® 2-Hi/4-Hi Combination Mills may be converted by the removal or insertion of work rolls. This permits great versatility of rolling capability on the same mill.

The most common configuration is the single reversing mill. Various mill designs are offered that include 6-high UCMs (Universal Crown Control Mill), ZR mills and 12-high cold-rolling mills with small-diameter work rolls for the efficient rolling of materials of high hardness.

Nov 28, 2016· A typical reversing mill has a quick change roll system. Four-high mills can be equipped with roll bend and shape control, a precision consistent product. Old 4-high cold rolling mills can be upgraded. Four-high rolling mills can be put in tandem, two to seven stands, instead of a reversing mill.

Achenbach OPTIMILL®. Cold Rolling Mills. Achenbach strip rolling mills reliably produce best strip qualities even at maximum rolling speeds, maximum rolling widths and highest coil weights. Designed either as 6-high or 4-high rolling mills they are always tailored to the specific operation purpose. Special applications, e.g. as bright rolling mills, require the 2-high rolling mill design. For ...

Cold Rolled Steels can be joined using accepted welding practices. SURFACE FINISH Cold Rolled Steels are manufactured with a matte finish obtained by rolling with specially roughened rolls on the cold mill and the temper mill. This finish helps to maintain effective lubrication during metal forming and improves the appearance of painted surfaces.

Nov 22, 2013· 6. Cold rolling - using Roll Coolant - emulsion In this CRM, Cold rolling is done on a Mecon Weanunited PLC controlled 3000 tons/m 4 Hi reversible mill. As the name suggests the 4 Hi mill employs 4 rolls, two these are the work rolls and the other two are the backup rolls.

Oil mist Fog/Lubrication system for back-up & work roll chocks. Combined pinion stand type main-drive gear box. Tension reel with suitable capacity of Mill required back tension. Four raw TQO type bearing for roll neck. Separate work roll trolley for saving time of work roll .

roll bite and in a typical Cold Tandem Mill, work roll temperatures normally fall in the range of 55oC – 70oC with strip recoil temperatures and inter-stand strip temperature rarely exceeding 160 oC depending on product. Roll Bite temperatures in slower heavily drafted stands can peak in the region of 300oC, diminishing with the

Sep 11, 2014· Customers often ask us about the differences between hot rolled steel and cold rolled steel. There are some fundamental differences between these two types of metal. The differences between hot rolled steel and cold rolled steel relates to the way these metals are processed at the mill, and not the product specification or grade.

Sendzimir's Z-High® Mill is the only design capable of reducing incoming stainless steel hot band to cold-roll gauges in a single pass in a process line. With the Process-Line Z-High® Mill, whether in single or multiple stands, no upstream equipment is required .

Four High - For finish rolling of thin gage stock, heavy reductions on nominally thin gage material and precision tolerances. Six-High roll inserts are also available for narrow width ribbon and foil products. Combination- A versatile "two-in-one" type that permits both two-high and four-high rolling in a single mill.

20-HS mill rolling mills from SMS Group - technology that pays off. You benefit from our 20-high mills because they are packed with state-of-the-art mechanics, hydraulics, electrics, and automation. Plus: it's easily possible to retrofit these features into existing mills.

Because of the smaller size of the workpieces and their greater strength, as compared to hot rolled stock, four-high or cluster mills are used. Cold rolling cannot reduce the thickness of a workpiece as much as hot rolling in a single pass. Cold-rolled sheets and strips come in various conditions: full-hard, half-hard, quarter-hard, and skin ...

The cluster mills consist of two working rolls with small diameter and four or more backup roll with larger diameter. The number of back- up rolls high as 20 or more depends upon the support heeded for the working roll. It cluster mill is used for cold rolling process. Application of rolling process:

20-High Mills. Sendzimir's 20-High mills are unique in that they have a small, chockless work roll and a cluster roll configuration supported by the Backing Assemblies. The cluster configuration transmits the roll separating force from the work rolls to the mill housing.

6-Hi Mills. Waterbury Farrel 6-Hi Mills provide improved flatness using a work roll bending mechanism and intermediate axial roll adjustment. These mills also provide improvements to the shape of rolled strip, increased reduction and greater rolling efficiency. Tandem Mill Improvements.
